Eating Healthy – Annie Style

I love to eat!  I live to eat!  I am a total foodie!  I can talk about food all day long!  However, I also love staying fit and healthy!  So, I focus on eating healthy about 75% of the time to balance my passion for food and fitness! 
Here's my daily plan on eating healthy: 

 • Morning Shake

 • 1 scoop of Green Vibrance from Vibrant Health
 • 1 scoop of Collagen Sport Whey Protein from Neocell 
 • 3 tablespoons of Udo's Oil from Flora
 • 16 ounces of water
+ 1 scoop of Green Vibrance from Vibrant Health

Then add 16 oz's of water

• Snack

I pack a bag of 1/2 cup of unsalted almonds and 1/2 cup of walnuts so I can snack throughout the day. 

• Lunch

For lunch, I usually mix up grape tomatoes with balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon of Udo’s oil, avocado, spinach, kale, feta cheese, fruit and any type of protein like tuna fish, chicken or tofu.

• Snack

Snack usually includes a huge bowl of popcorn by Skinny Pop!  My 8 year old daughter loves sliced green apples with peanut butter!

• Dinner

Dinner is my favorite meal, so I love cooking fresh fish!  I set the oven to 350 degrees and wrap fresh fish in aluminum oil and bake for about 20-30 minutes on a cookie sheet/pan.  While the fish is cooking, I saute a huge pan full of vegetables (anything you have in the fridge like kale, spinach, asparagus, etc..) with a tablespoon of olive oil.  Once the fish is ready, I plate the vegetables and place the piece of fish on top.  I love adding about 2 tablespoons of pesto over the fish!  I love eating fresh, seasonal fruit for dessert!  My daughter and I also like to make fish tacos with corn tortillas!  We warm up the tortillas with shredded cheese in the oven for 5 minutes at 350 degrees.  Then we add the warm fish and add avocado, salsa, hot sauce and a ton of spinach, lettuce, and/or kale!

    I love supporting Alive and Well because it is locally owned small business (just like my store) and the owners are 
    good friends of mine!  They always have discounts and promotions for my favorite supplements and products.  You
    can even order on-line!  
• Down to Earth
    They have great local produce!  In their prepared food section, I love picking up their vegetarian spring rolls wrapped
     in rice wrap with the peanut dipping sauce.  Their pizzas are so super yummy!  
• Whole Foods Market
    I still love Whole Foods with a passion!  I started shopping at Whole Foods over 17 years ago when I lived in
    Berkeley!  They have a huge variety of prepared food, produce, smoked meats, and yummy desserts!

UpCountry

• Mana Foods in Paia
    I totally love Mana Foods! All my bestie know that I order our favorite princess cake from their bakery. It is the best 
    cake on the island! I also love their hot prepared food! My all time favorite is their butternut squash roasted with feta
    cheese and drizzled with honey, their roasted chicken (any spice/preparation is awesome), maui maui, pad thai
Dragon’s Den in Makawao
    This is a hidden treasure off the main road of boutiques in Makawao close to the General Store!  

Kihei

 Hawaiian Moons
    When I forget to pack my snacks or lunch, I stop by Hawaiian Moons!  They have bins of my favorite energy bars and
    unsalted, roasted, organic almonds.

West Side

Farmer’s Market in Napili
    This is the only place on the west side to shop for all these awesome products! 
I love taking my daughter shopping with me at all of these health food grocery stores because I can educate her on food without additives, coloring, and high fructose corn syrup.  I also shop a lot at CostCo and show her how to read labels to buy healthy food and snacks!
